What Others are Saying About My Work
Quoted from Sera Miles (aka Sarah E. Azizi) of Soft Corners Studio Center (@SoftCornersabq) in Albuquerque, NM —
“Cones #1 thru #4 by artist @tippihunter. Tippi has worked with construction cones as a theme for many years, and these new paintings both continue the theme and architect a new path for
"under construction."
What does it mean to be "under construction"? How many ways do we understand the construction cone - as a sign of danger?
Or care? Temporary mess and madness? Or a permanent state of disarray and disorder?
If the cone changes color, how does the meaning shift within our psyches? If the cone's surrounded by debris, what does that say about how we consume and discard..?
Tippi's work with Construction Cones begs us to ask ourselves what we see in the ordinary, what we pretend not to see (who put the cone there, and why?), and how we think of ourselves in relation to the shifting world around us.
Come see these four new paintings TONIGHT at our Opening, #Albuquerque - 5:30pm at Soft Corners! Tell us what YOU see... on the canvas and within yourself.
