An image of a digital artwork of Tippi’s MRI.

Please reference the Youtube video: “You Are Two” by CGP Grey located here, or https://youtu.be/wfYbgdo8e-8?si=unH0A4LMTYcLpNNA

In the video, it becomes obvious the left brain is doing all the talking, and yet, only see’s half the picture, while the right brain is forced to quietly sit back, observe, and is only allowed to make body movements as it’s language gestures.

If my left brain is all words, and I know when I’m communicating dominantly, and heavily, within my left hemisphere— then, I want to— as a conscious choice— notice more often when my subtler right hemisphere communicates!I question the motives of my brains by asking questions like, “is the right hemisphere only communicating through symbols & images, and the left hemisphere only through words & phrases?

Apparently, via the video, right hemisphere communication is literally the oldest of the two, and ONLY uses imagery & symbols, but not words, to communicate (assuming this means vocal use of language as well), and is completely silent, AND intelligently listening, watching, and responding. Often, I’d receive quiet visual flashes of insight. Were these direct right hemisphere communications delivered as an image to my mind’s eye as a way to give me a message?

Another good question is— what am I, that I investigate which of the hemispheres in my cerebrum are communicating, and in their specific styles, to ME— directly, and to what aim, that I may choose to create an image as a painting, or drawing, or to say the word or words as a poem, script, or lyric..

This causes me to wonder and ask, which part of the brain crafts, listens to, responds to, and communicates with music. Is one hemisphere solely responsible for the beautiful melodies in lyricless music & symphony, or is the creation of music (especially when lyrics are added) an integrated play between both left & right hemispheres like that which we hear at the opera.. Hmm, good question.

If you’d like to discuss this more with me, or you know the answer to which hemisphere is responsible for music— let me know by commenting on this blog post, or by following my blog posts through my feed on Twitter/X @Daurkdeeds.
